When griping grief the heart doth wound,
and doleful dumps the mind opresses,
then music, with her silver sound,
with speedy help doth lend redress.
-William Shakespeare
Worship
I've been having trouble writing songs all along. Try as I might, I just can't grab that song by the neck. I returned to writing last night, and I got a song out. But then again, it doesn't bring out what I want to. I just couldn't "bring it".
Then God gave me a helping hand.
We didn't play much songs just now in practice. All we had was true worship, letting the Holy Spirit take control of our hands and voices. Sometimes we all get caught up with so many songs, we forget the true meaning of praise & worshipping.
Tonight a few of us didn't make it, so we had a little moment just to let healing run wild in our souls. It was all free flow open worship. I really had to thank Sarah for tonight. She doesn't know what she did for me, but I'm sure it was God who used her to guide me.
I found that I could get words out freely and there was a flow to it. It really all mattered about my heart. I lost myself in His presence and it all came spilling out.
Write in His presence, not for His presence.
Sometimes, we just need to lose ourselves for the moment. Not just this. Any moment.
Thank you Father. I see Your road for me a little more clearer now.
Let my dreams be Yours for me.
Let my steps be Yours for me.
Let my desires be Yours for me.
Now, I'm just gonna "bring it"

Welcome into this place
Totally in love with this song. Not a day goes by without it filling my ears.
"As long as there is breath in me, there is hope in God."
Welcome into this place
God, You are welcomed into this broken vessel
You desire to abide, in the praises of your people
So we lift our hands, and we lift our hearts
As we offer up, this praise unto Your name
Welcome into this place
Welcome into this broken vessel
You desire to abide, in the praises of your people
So we lift our hands, and we lift our hearts
As we offer up, this praise unto Your name
Welcome into this place
Welcome into this broken vessel
You desire to abide, in the praises of your people
So we lift our hands, and we lift our hearts
As we offer up, this praise unto Your name
Creation, declares your glory
And the universe, declares your Majesty
Yet you choose to abide in the praises of your people
So we lift our hands, and we lift our hearts
As we offer up, this praise unto Your name
Welcome into this place
Welcome into this broken vessel
You desire to abide, in the praises of your people
So we lift our hands, and we lift our hearts
As we offer up, this praise unto Your name
Welcome into this place
Welcome into this broken vessel
You desire to abide, in the praises of your people
So we lift our hands, and we lift our hearts
As we offer up, this praise unto Your name
So we lift our hands, and we life our hearts
As we offer up, this praise unto Your name
So we lift our hands, and we life our hearts
As we offer up, this praise unto Your name
Welcome into this place

Every wound healed
We had practise last night in church again. Played Rain Down by Delirious and How I Love You by Planet Shakers. It was great, I could do this every single night. I just love it.
Thank you so much for what you said. You don't know what it did to me. Thank you so so much. Every wound's healed.

Silence of God
There will be times when God is unavailable.
I might raise a few eyebrows here and there with that statement, but it's true. You can almost hear Him say to you, "Handle it yourself".
And a great storm of wind arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him and said to him, "Teacher, do you not care if we perish?" And he awoke and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, "Why are you afraid? Have you no faith?"
Mark 4:37-40
Jesus was asleep when His disciples were in trouble, and the "cushion" suggests a level of comfort that Jesus was in. God sleeps when you're in trouble. Well, it's not so much that He doesn't bother Himself with your problems. Oh yes, He's still there, but it's just that He's SILENT. He doesn't like spoon-feeding, and expects you to get out of trouble, by having FAITH in Him.
Faith, is the capability to overcome any obstacle, and that amount of confidence and trust, is given to you, by God. Anything that appears in front of us, we can overcome by keeping faith, in Him.
I believe there is nothing God will give us that we cannot handle, because with Him, we move mountains. It is said that we should pray as if everything depended on God, but handle problems as if everything depended on us. Don't wake Him up, asking to be rescued and expect the road to be smooth. I can imagine Him bellowing in an authoritive voice, "Have you no faith?" Instead, pray and call upon His strength, and say, "I can do it."
Faith, is to trust.
But be still, for He is still the God of all comfort, and the God of mercies. He will comfort you through your tough times, and catch you when you fall.
Sometimes, we shouldn't just rely on Him, but rely on the faith that He has given.
"A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps."

Solitude
Took a long bus ride down to the East this evening, and spent quiet time alone at the beach. I know the Sun sets in the West, but I could see it from where I was. The Sun wasn't glaring, but it was beaming red. I was practically staring at it descend into the clouds, observing it's slightest movement. It's pretty amazing, watching the Sun move.
But the real beauty unveils itself after the Sun loses it's visibility.
You wonder where the light of the world is coming from. Right in front of you, it's an art piece that hangs over the sky. It's almost like diluted blue, beige, orange and white paint that's splashed across the sky with perfect precision. Every colour and detail seems to be in exactly their assigned place. For that few moments, the world looked so calm and peaceful, with the waves gently gnawing continously at the beach. Complete beauty to the eyes, and ears.
That is before darkness catches up soon after, and I'm thrown into solitude again.
God is so perfect. The creations that come from His hands are indeed so beautiful. It's already a miracle I could be there alone, basking in His beauty and glory. There are miracles all around, my friends. Just stop for a moment and open up the eyes of your heart, you'll never need proof ever again, to know He's the one true God.
Not many will know this, but I have this really weird fantasy that I could be blind, and it's been going on for years. I'm intrigued by the life of a blind. Even for a day, I want to take away the priviledges of my sight. I'm just hoping friends of mine that are studying medicine will become Ophthalmologists one day, and probably detach my retina for me.
And perhaps when I can't take another day of blindness, I'll just get them to attach it back again. That's what friends are for right ?
Yeah, like it's that simple Ian.

Spiritual sufferings
Inevitably, each and every person goes through sufferings that will weaken them, harden them. We cry out to God for directions, for comfort, for peace. One thing I can tell you, it's God's blessing that we suffer from sorrow. You heard me right. It's God's grace.
Just take a moment to ponder. When exactly are the times that we find ourselves extremely close to God ? No, it's not the times when you're in high spirits, having a crazy time with friends. No, it's not the times when you're in your comfort zone enjoying your favourite hobbies in your hideout. No, it's not the times when you're caught up with your busy schedule and work.
When we're desperate and alone, with broken souls and hearts, we weep so sorrowfully. When it feels like the world is crumbling infront of you, when you're confused and hurt and desperately crying out for help. Now that's when you're closest to God.
It is sad, but true. We don't feel the presence of God as much when we're happy, as compared to when we're sad. So please don't cry. Be strong, because with God, our strength is made perfect in weakness.
"For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ"
2 Corinthians 1:5
Jesus loves you. Treat adversities as blessings from God. He is just pulling you closer to Him, to walk safely with Him. He just wants some time, alone with you. Isn't that just flattering to know ? Someone so glorious and mighty, just wants a moment with an insignificant you, alone. Well, the thing is, He doesn't see you as "insignificant". You ARE great.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for letting us know just how much you treasure each and every one of us, like precious gems. In Your eyes, we soar like eagles, above the storm, with You. Thank you Jesus. Thank you so much.
In Jesus' mighty name, I pray. Amen

How I Love You
Here I stand, my heart is still
Wanting just to be with You
Waiting here, long for your voice to speak
Touch me now, it's your face I seek
How my soul longs for You
To be with You, adore You
Nothing more I want to do
Than to sing to You
Jesus, I'm in love with You
Speak to me, whisper Your words of truth
Take my heart, won't You make me new
Jesus, how I love You
How I love You
On my knees, for You I lay my life
Giving all, a living sacrifice
Take my life, and all that I long to be
Set apart, only for You my King
How my soul long for You
To be with You, adore You
Nothing more I want to do
Than to sing to You
Jesus, I'm in love with You
Speak to me, whisper Your words of truth
Take my heart, won't You make me new
Jesus, how I love You
How I love You
How my soul longs for You
How my soul longs for You
How my soul longs for You
How my soul longs for You
Jesus, I'm in love with You
Speak to me, whisper Your words of truth
Take my heart, won't You make it new
Jesus, how I love You
How I love You
Jesus, I'm in love with You
Speak to me, whisper Your words of truth
Take my heart, won't You make it new
Jesus, how I love You
How I love You
How I love You
How I love You

Recharged ...
I just love Wednesday nights in church. It's something I look forward to every time and it never fails to lift my spirits. Though it's meant to be practice session for musicians from both Faith Chapel and One Accord Church, I know all of our hearts just long for the presence of God everytime we pick up the instruments to praise and worship the Lord.
It isn't just about making sure we play perfectly during service, nor is it about improving our skills. I believe we long to be there because being able to come together to play and sing our hearts out to the Lord, it's something so refreshing and the rewards are just indescribable.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Lord, thank you for every special moment that you have endowed us. Your presence is so precious and Your name is worthy of all great things. Lord continue to bless the musicians as we lead Praise & Worship in Your heavenly name. Father let us see that the hands we use to play are not ours, but Yours, and they will play for You and only You Lord. Let us know the voices that sing for You are not ours as well, but belong to You. Let us experience the true meaning of worshipping You Lord, with every voice and every note we exalt You. We shall live by faith and not by sight Lord. Thank you Father, thank you Jesus.
In Jesus' mighty name, I pray. Amen
