When griping grief the heart doth wound,
and doleful dumps the mind opresses,
then music, with her silver sound,
with speedy help doth lend redress.
-William Shakespeare
My metaphoric array
I came back a while ago from my usual 2 a.m runs outside. Halfway back, I got caught in a thunderstorm. Rain. This has got to be one of the greatest beauty God ever created. A miracle in itself. How I love the rain.
'Rain' gives you a sense of isolation and solitude, just by staring at it. Find yourself amidst the four walls of nature. You seek shelter and you're seemingly helpless by the might and number of the falling drops. Creatures, beings, insects, all seem to obey. Even the mightiest of all creatures, seek cover, with heads bowed.
I adore the 'rain'. It's like I've found a world where I could belong. You're on your own out there. No one to intrude. No one to understand. I ran. Faster, and faster. Out of nowhere, flashes appear across the sky. 'Lightning and thunder' telling me it's going to be always dangerous and gloomy. Afraid, I ran. Faster, and faster. The irony of running away from something, yet wishing it would strike you dead, and everything's over. Problem is, I had nowhere to run to, nowhere to go. The only reason why anyone has things to run to, is because they have things to escape from. I knew what I was escaping from, but I did not understand. I didn't know where to run to, and I couldn't heal my land. I've found my world. A world of endless simplicity, overflowing with complicated complexity. My metaphoric array.
I love the 'rain'.
And the 'rain' loves me.
Get me out of my storm.
